These include two summits on the 3rd and 11th highest mountains in the world (Kangchenjunga and Gasherbrum 1) and more recently leadership of the highly publicised attempt on Everest’s notorious West Ridge. Two of our Directors have also earned MBE’s for their outstanding leadership and mountaineering contributions.

With many Himalayan expeditions to our name we have developed extremely good relationships with local resources in the Nepal Himalaya. We have a great sense of responsibility to the environment we operate in and to the indigenous people who live and work there; employing local staff, and using local suppliers.

The porters, Sherpas, tea house owners and yak herders alike make these expeditions possible and we are forever grateful to them for allowing us to share in the extraordinary beauty of their native soil.

We have several expeditions currently underway. Please see our News and Events page for details of up and coming trips.

My Peak Potential’s Dave Bunting and John Doyle headed up the Leadership for Everest West Ridge 2006. The expedition was recorded for a televised documentary, Man v. Mountain and it is also the subject of a motivational presentation that Dave presents worldwide. This presentation covers the planning, preparation, training and logistics that led up to the expedition as well as some amazing stories from the mountain itself.

Dave can be booked for motivational presentations, keynote speeches and after dinner talks. Please click here to enquire about dates and prices.

Steve Jackson, Managing Director of My Peak Potential was part of the leadership of the 1996 Services expedition to Gasherbrum I in the Karakorum region of Pakistan. At 8086 metres high, this is the 11th highest mountain in the world. The team achieved success and John Doyle, our Director of Operations, along with three other members of the climbing team, summited without using supplementary oxygen.

In 2000 Steve, John and Dave Bunting were all instrumental in achieving success on the South West Face of Kangchenjunga (8586 metres). Steve Jackson led the expedition and both Dave and John were members of the climbing team. John Doyle was again part of the summit team, who also reached their goal unaided by supplementary oxygen. This route had not been climbed by a British team since George Band and Joe Brown first climbed it in 1955.
